When I met Sophan 5 years ago, I knew immediately that he could be trusted. He's a man with brains and a big heart. He manages the entire social workshop and has been with it since it was founded 23 years ago. Thanks to him, the small non-proft sewing business was able to continue after their founder retired a few years ago.
Like about 4% of all Cambodians, he himself is disabled due to landmines from the Khmer Rough War.
His life is dedicated to people with a similar fate. He makes sure they learn sewing in a professional way from expert sewers. He provides them with a job that can support them and their mostly very large family. Moreover he helps these people to integrate into normal society. I appreciate him very much, not only because he is a wonderful person, but also because he is a real problem solver and a partner I have been able to rely on for years!
